Interior Design- oranges n browns

Because I used a 3rd coat of gesso prior to painting, most of the textures are more transparent than in the previous versions. This series is proving very interesting, as I am made to use all the work I have done in my past 30 years of painting. Each piece’s free style drawing has nuances which propel me to change details in the painting as well, so that the similar layout takes on new parameters in each subsequent work.

A note on the Depth of these paintings: I do not feel that a 1.5 in depth is necessary for a work 30 x 40 in. After all, painting is a flat medium and works do not need to protrude so much from the wall, in my view. The stretched canvases I buy are Artist quality in all respects- the wide cross-braces on the back support this chosen size effectively, with or without a frame.
