The Queen

This painting is done with a technique that I invented in 2018.

1. Paint the whole canvas in washes of 2 colors- divide the area as you wish between the hues. The paint here is mixed with both water and GAC 100 (Golden Acrylics medium), for a very smooth base coat which is transparent enough to let your previous drawing outlined in Burnt Umber show through.
2. Continue the work with paint which this time is mixed with less water, and with Liquitex’s acrylic  “Slow-dri” medium: this makes the paint cover the background tones just enough to let them shine slightly through.
3. The total effect is similar to what one can obtain with oils.
